Description
When welding special materials, such as Stainless Steel or Titanium outside of a welding chamber it may be necessary to purge the weld area using a Walter Schnorrer Drag Shield to prevent the weld from oxidising. There is a choice of two standard Schnorrer WS Drag Shields, one in Stainless steel and the other in aluminium.
Simply connect the quick release hose to the purge gas supply and fix the weld head to the Drag Shield. Welding can then commence while providing a shielded area on the surface of the pipe.
Common to both WS Drag Shields is the diffusers that prevent swirls and turbulence in the welding zone during use.
